The city of Kochi

The state of Kerala, internationally touted by travel magazines and tour managers as Gods Own Country, lies on the southernmost tip of India. This green country nestles between the Arabian Sea on the west and stately Western Ghat mountains on the east. The whole state is one long stretch of beautiful lush greenery, which is simply breathtaking. No wonder the National Geographic Traveller has listed Kerala as one of the ten paradises of the World.

And if Kerala is beautiful, Kochi is resplendently so. A modern, well built, medium size city, Kochi is a unique blend of old-world charm and the ultra modern urban civilization. Once visited by the Dutch, the Portuguese, the British, the Chinese, the Arabs, ranging from traders and travellers to warriors and conquerors, Kochi is stepped in history and revels in nostalgia. Kochi (Cochin, Ernakulam) has golden beaches, blue lakes, a world-renowned seaport, a modern international airport, great historic monuments and myriad of other sites to see. The frenzy of the snake boat races, the thrill of the houseboat rides, the pageantry of temple festivals and elephant parades, the extravaganza of Kathakali Dances-there is never a dull moment when you’re at Kochi.

The College campus is located right in the heart of the city, on the Banerji Road. It is close to everything that is basic to modern civilized life-the airport, airline offices, railway stations, bus terminals, travel agencies, shopping centers, markets, art galleries, movie houses, hospitals, places of worships and everything that contributes to the quality of good life. There is an abundance of restaurants and eating places that serve a super quality of European, Continental, North Indian, South Indian and Chinese Food. Cochin’s Seafood delicacies have been a sizzling treat to the taste buds of gourmets and connoisseurs of good food.
