St. Albert's College offer the following career oriented ad-on courses.
UGC Sponsored add-on Courses for Degree Students
The objective of the scheme is to introduce career and market-oriented, skill enhancing add-on courses that have utility for job, self-employment and empowerment of the students.
This program will run parallel to the conventional B.A., B.Com and B.Sc. degrees. At the end of three years, the students will be equipped with a Certificate/ Diploma/ Advanced Diploma in an add-on orientation course along with a conventional degree in Science/ Arts/ Commerce.
Evaluation and Certification
The certificate will be issued by the University or in the joint name of University and college. Credit system is followed in these courses. Since the contents of the proposed subjects being different from what is generally available in Universities and Colleges, experts from the respective fields will teach much of the content of new subjects. The most important aspect of the course is the practical training given to the students. Out of the 30 credits allotted for each course 10 credits are assigned for practical training alone - a clear distinction between career-oriented subjects and other academic subjects. The course is conducted outside the normal working hours of the college. Since UGC provides financial support for meeting initial expenditure such as books and equipments a moderate amount of fees will be collected from students who pursue these courses.
Course Structure
Certificate Course: The course will be of 30 credits. Out of which 10 credits are assigned to field work/ project work/ training. Each credit will have 15 hours of workload.
Diploma Course: This is meant for students who have completed the certificate course.The course will be of 60 credits. Out of this 30 credits are earned during the certificated courses. From the remaining 30 credits, 10 credits are assigned to field work/ project work/ training. Each credit will have 15 hours of workload.
Advanced Diploma Course: This is meant for students who have completed the certificate and Diploma courses. The course will be of 90 credits, out of which 60 credits are earned during the Certificated and Diploma courses respectively. Out of the the remaining 30 credits, 10 credits are assigned to field work/ project work/ training. Each credit will have 15 hours of workload.
